Disney Skype Lecture Series: J.B Kaufman

J.B. Kaufman is an author and film historian who has published and lectured extensively on Disney animation, American silent film history, and related topics. He has written three books for the Walt Disney Family Foundation Press: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: The Art and Creation of Walt Disney's Classic Animated Film (2012), The Fairest One of All: The Making of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (2012), and Pinocchio: The Making of the Disney Epic (2015). He also wrote South of the Border with Disney: Walt Disney and the Good Neighbor Program, 1941-1948 (Disney Editions, 2009). He also co-authored two books with Russell Merritt: Walt in Wonderland: The Silent Films of Walt Disney (John Hopkins University Press, 1994) and Walt Disney’s Silly Symphonies: A Companion to the Classic Cartoon Series (Disney Editions, 2016).

Presented as part of Think. Act. Lead. the Disney Skype Lecture Series consists of presentations by Experts who have done significant work or scholarship for or about the Walt Disney Company.  In addition to presenting their work, the invited lecturers talk about the role of mentorship in their careers, and will be available to answer audience questions.  The Disney Skype Lecture Series is funded through a grant from the Davis Educational Foundation, which was established by Stanton and Elisabeth Davis after Mr. Davis’s retirement as chairman of Shaw’s Supermarkets, Inc.
