6th Annual South Shore Regional Leadership and Empowerment Conference

Saturday, April 30, 2016 | 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. | Stonehill College, Martin Institute Auditorium

“Redefining the Leader in You”

The South Shore Regional Leadership and Empowerment Conference is designed to share practice, knowledge and instructions to resident leaders. The goals of the conference are:

  1. To build, enhance and develop leadership skills among community leaders and ordinary citizens;
  2. To demonstrate, coach and empower leaders and citizens how to actively engage in advocacy and civic engagement work in their communities;
  3. To establish a network of shared practices, and identify a call to action that responds to some of the most prevailing issues that these communities are faced with.

Under the leadership of Community Connections of Brockton, in partnership with United Way of Greater Plymouth County, Stonehill College and the Parent Magazine Leadership Team of Brockton, this one-day conference provides opportunities for community members to both co-design the conference and various workshops that are offered. Workshops will be offered in the following categories:

  • family and relationship development,
  • emotional wellness,
  • education & empowerment, and
  • community organizing & activism
