NYC Internship Program Benefits Stonehill Students Seeking Coveted Placements

New York City is the largest city in the United States and a Stonehill program provides students of all majors with the chance to learn and lead in coveted NYC internships.

Internships

Internships are integral for preparing students for postgraduate opportunities. They provide an opportunity to gain valuable experience, build a professional network, and learn more about yourself and potential careers.

Interns have the opportunity to:

  • Get a better grasp of the connections between theory and practice
  • Adapt to a culture outside the college environment
  • Network with professionals at different levels of an organization
  • Apply academic knowledge to hands-on situations
  • Gain exposure to potential career choices
  • Earn academic credit

Internship Opportunities

  • Local Internships

Local internships are a great way to gain firsthand knowledge of a specific field. Most local internships are part-time, but depending on the opportunity, students may also have the opportunity to intern full time.

  • New York City

The New York City Externship Program is an intense week-long networking experience focusing on career exploration. Each year, a small group of students (sophomores, juniors and seniors) are selected to travel to New York City and spend the week meeting with prestigious, successful alumni in a range of professional settings to gain insight into a variety of career opportunities possible for students after graduation from Stonehill.

  • Hill to Hill

Hill to Hill is a program for Stonehill students interested in a career in government, politics, non-profits, and other organizations in Boston, MA or Washington, D.C. Participants will travel to Washington, D.C. during spring break and conduct a minimum of ten informational interviews and network with Stonehill alumni living in the Boston and D.C. area during that week.

  • Boston Externship

The Boston Externship Program is an exploratory networking opportunity for students. Students visit a dozen employers in the Boston area, including the companies like the Boston Celtics, Dana-Farber, Brown Brothers Harriman and W.B. Mason, during spring break.
