The Management Information Systems program emphasizes the use of a computer as a managerial productivity tool and/or a resource of an organization in a systems setting.
The management information systems (MIS) curriculum is designed to help students understand the core concepts in information systems, essential to just about every job. This means graduates who can lead teams and projects that integrate information systems into business processes are in high demand and have an edge in the job market.
The program does not require any detailed knowledge of computing or information technology, nor is extensive computer programming required.
As businesses continue to become more aware of the importance of using information systems to make operational and strategic decisions, they want to hire graduates who not only understand these systems, but also possess analytical problem-solving skills and know how to act as a liaison between business executives and IT staff. The MIS curriculum will give you this unique advantage upon graduation.

With the MIS minor I will be a strong competitor both in the job market and in the workforce. Through these courses and internships, I’ve continuously been inspired by the assertion that technology has the power to change businesses and, in turn, individuals’ lives.
