Stonehill Parents & Business Education Alliance

An Opportunity for Parents to Participate in the Stonehill College Community

Join Us in Building the Best in Business Education

We invite you, as parents of a Stonehill student, to become involved in the College and strengthen connections with the Stonehill community.  There are many volunteer opportunities for you to help enhance our outstanding business program, the College, the Stonehill community and help your child.

As a member of the Stonehill Parents & Business Education Alliance, you’ll join other parents, faculty and staff at social functions. You’ll also be able to provide internship and employment opportunities to students, mentor students with career planning, and/or volunteer to speak to a class, student business club or as part of our Executive Speaker Series.

The Stonehill Parents & Business Education Alliance allows parents of Stonehill students become more connected to Stonehill as well as be a part of the excitement and growth of the College.

I hope you'll join the alliance today!

Ways to Get Involved

We want to provide parents of Stonehill students with an important opportunity to connect to the College and enhance our outstanding business education both inside and outside the classroom. Your involvement can be very rewarding for you, your family and the Stonehill community. As a member of the alliance, you will find there are numerous ways that you can participate and add considerable value to our community. Through this partnership, you will have the opportunity to:

Offer internship opportunities

Many students enter college with an intended career path while others are still undecided. Often times, a student’s direction changes because of their internship experiences. By graduation, these experiences give students confidence they’ve chosen the right career. Employers look for students with work experience that compliments their in-class achievements because they require less training and are able to handle more responsibility. As a member of the alliance, you can work with our Career Services counselors to help us expand the opportunities available in the Career Connections database. Your company is also invited to participate in our Career Fairs held in the fall and spring semesters.

Help With Post-Graduation Employment

With many experienced workers looking for jobs and companies still watching their budgets, it can still be challenging to land that first post-graduate position. It is essential for job candidates to stand out from the competition and market themselves as a valuable and unique brand. We find it's often about "who they know and who knows them.” As a Stonehill parent, you can be a great advocate for the quality of academic experience offered to your son or daughter and the value that can bring a potential employer.

Be a Guest Speaker

Your business experience matters and it can add significant contributions to our AACSB accredited academic platform either as additions to our in-class coursework or maybe as a guest speaker for our student business organizations such as the Accounting Association, Financial Management Association or Marketing and Management Association, just to name a few.

Join Us for Our Executive Speaker Series

The Executive Speaker Series event is offered once a semester for faculty, students and alumni. Stonehill’s business department invites executives from around the country to speak on a topic of their choice and respond to questions from the audience. These events are an excellent opportunity for students to get deeper insights on the challenges they may face in the years ahead.

Mentor in Your Career Field

Join our community of alumni (through our Career Services Department) who also share their time with current students to discuss academic choices, career paths and business experiences.  Simple things that seem easy or straightforward to you now may be a complete mystery to a college student. You can provide students with an experienced friend who is there to help in any number of situations.

Build Your Company’s Brand

Promoting your organization and staying in front of students can be a winning strategy for your firm.  You have the opportunity to sponsor business club activities, seminars and other special events as well as invite students on company site visits.

Get your Business Involved in our Classrooms

Our senior business capstone course, Policy and Strategy, is actively seeking to work with your companies to solve real world business problems. For more than half a decade, our seniors have tackled current business problems in semester-long consulting engagements for eBay, Johnson & Johnson, W.B. Mason, Sullivan Tire, The JFK Museum, Signature Healthcare, Rockland Trust, HarborOne Bank, among others. These organizations bring us real world business problems to be researched, analyzed and investigated. Students then present recommendations to senior management teams. Every company in today’s business environment experiences a lack of time or resources to address all the challenges that face them. Let our Stonehill seniors help your organization address these issues. We welcome your organization’s involvement with our student consultants. Contact: Professor Robert Spencer at
