Careers for English Majors

At some point, almost all English majors will face the dreaded question:  "What are you going to do with THAT?"  So we decided to find out what our English majors actually go on to do.   The responses we received represent almost 50 years of English at Stonehill -- from the class of '61 to the class of '08 -- and demonstrate the vast range of careers open to those who know how to write, read, and think critically.

Our majors have gone on to become--among many other things--writers, teachers, consultants, architects, journalists, editors, publishers, producers, attorneys, comedians, restaurateurs, marketing managers, university administrators, Peace Corps volunteers, secret service agents, advertising copywriters, artists, musicians, nurses, and stock brokers...
