Religious Studies & English MajorWhen I came to Stonehill in the fall of 2008, I had one idea in mind of what I wanted to study and no idea of what I would do with that after college.
English seemed my strong point and I entered Stonehill with that as my only major. After taking two religion classes in the fall semester though, one of them being a required Cornerstone class, I realized I had a genuine interest in Religious Studies and the influence religion has on different cultures of the world. As a result, I added Religious Studies as a second major and plan on avidly pursuing it in the future as a possible profession.
Life at Stonehill for me isn't just about books, however. I entered college with a strong passion for music and have been able to nurture that while here. As an extra-curricular activity, I host a radio show with two friends and bring my favorite tunes to the rest of Stonehill and some of the surrounding towns.
Following the musical theme, I write for Stonehill's cultural magazine's music section, tying two of my interests -- writing and music -- together.
I also hope to take advantage of the college's great study-abroad program in the future and am looking forward to the chance of studying and experiencing religion at its roots.
So, I guess the best thing about being a Stonehill student is the opportunity available to me. I can tie together all the things I love best and make my college experience completely unique to me while still sharing commonalities with my friends here who are following their own paths.
