Stuart Kane teaches and researches Medieval English literature, particularly the areas of intersection among law, violence and sexuality. Recent publications have assessed Middle English ballads and romances in terms of Gilles Deleuze’s notions of faciality, assemblage, and rhizome. He is currently working on a book on the Medieval Robin Hood tradition, tentatively titled Violence and Virtue: Medieval Outlaws, Medieval Textuality.
