Research InterestsI am interested in the effects of environmental stressors, whether natural or man-made, on the physiological processes of animals. I am particularly interested in changes in immune function that either adversely affect organisms or that allow them to avoid disease in the face of environmental challenges. Students in my lab will learn a variety of laboratory techniques to evaluate immune function, primarily in amphibians. Anyone with an interest in the interaction of the environment with an animal's physiology is invited to come and discuss research possibilities. I encourage a healthy balance between laboratory and field studies.
