Government Grants From the Reviewer's Perspective
Facilitated by Bonnie Troupe, Director of Academic Development at Stonehill College
Those of us in the business of securing external funding for our institutions often find ourselves looking for new ways to enhance the process. This session will highlight the strategy of seeing grants from the "other side of the fence." Becoming a proposal reviewer yourself gives insight into the procedure. We will cover the "why" and "how" of becoming involved in federal and state grants reviews. Participants will learn how federal and state reviews are handled and ways the process may be applied to proposal development.
Workshop objectives:
-
Learn steps for becoming a grant proposal reviewer
-
Gain deeper understanding for how reviews are handled
-
Explore how proposal components can be enhanced
- Understand benefits and challenges of becoming a reader
As part of a workshop activity, participants will engage in an actual mock review!
