Marketing Student Achievements

Nick Kolenda, Class of 2012

Nick KolendaWhile attending Stonehill, Nick gained extensive academic research experience in both Marketing and Psychology. Shortly after graduation, he presented a research paper on subconscious information processing at the Association for Psychological Science national conference. A few months later, Nick accompanied two Stonehill professors to the American Marketing Association Summer Educator's Conference in Chicago to present a paper they wrote on knowledge transfer in Marketing. Nick has written several other research papers currently being under review for publication in academic journals, covering topics such as:

  • Hypnosis
  • Juror confidence
  • Consumer decision making

He currently works as a Marketing Research Analyst at Applied Marketing Science, a consulting firm near Boston. At AMS, he does survey design, survey fielding, data analysis, and client presentation design. He has had an opportunity to work for clients in a variety of industries including telecommunications, healthcare, mining equipment, and aerospace technology.

Lindsay Martin, Class of 2012

Lindsay MartinDuring her time at Stonehill, Lindsay pursued her interests in Marketing both in and out of the classroom. Her academic achievements in the field earned her regional and national scholarships from professional business associations, including the New England Direct Marketing Association (NEDMA) and the Delta Mu Delta International Honor Society in Business.

Outside of class, Lindsay was a Marketing teaching assistant and the president of Stonehill's Marketing and Management Association. In this role, she brought the American Marketing Association's Alpha Mu Alpha Honor Society to campus and organized its first induction ceremony. Today, Lindsay works in sales as an Account Executive for W.B. Mason. She prospects and strengthens relationships with existing clientele in southern New Hampshire.

Corinne Sherman, Class of 2011

Corinne ShermanFollowing graduation, Corinne worked in New York for SheSpeaks as a Program Manager executing and analyzing marketing campaigns for a variety of brands including Johnson & Johnson's Carefree, S.C Johnson's Cerra.com, Torani, Peeled Snacks, and Simple Skincare for Walgreens.

She is currently a Social Business Analyst on eBay's Global Social Analytics Team in San Jose, Calif. Corinne uses social media strategy, business analysis and problem solving to develop reporting for social business success metrics across eBay globally, ultimately making the insights actionable to drive the business forward. She was recruited for the position based on her exemplary job as a PayPal intern during college.

While at Stonehill, Corinne did numerous internships:

  • Marketing/Business Development Intern at SheSpeaks in New York
  • Marketing Intern at MEGA International in Raynham, Mass.
  • Business Development Intern at WaterOne Tech in Amston, Conn.

Janna Stanke, Class of 2011

During her Stonehill career, Janna spent a semester in London with an international internship with a nonprofit, and was a participant of Development Fundraising Leaders Institute. These experiences led her to want to pursue a career within the nonprofit sector. She found support from the business faculty, Career Services, The Center for Nonprofit Management, and Office of Intercultural Affairs.

Upon graduation, Janna started a paid internship with Father Bill's & MainSpring Development Office, gaining experience working with fundraising software and assisting with creating marketing materials for the organization's annual fundraiser. After a few months Janna was offered a position within the department as a Development Assistant and later promoted to Database Coordinator. In 2012, she joined American Fundraising Professionals, and applied to graduate school to get an MBA in nonprofit management.

George Whetstone, Class of 2009

George WhetstoneSince graduating George has been working for TechTarget, the largest online publishing network of B2B IT editorial content, owning and operating more than 150 technology-specific sites and serving the IT market for news, product updates, and much more.

In his role as Major Account Manager, George works with marketing departments of clients at the largest IT companies in the world - Symantec, Cisco, HP, etc., which want to take advantage of TechTarget's unique targeting capabilities and develops marketing campaigns.

George says he feels his undergraduate studies in Marketing/Business and his competitive drive from a lifetime of sports, have served him well in his professional surroundings, first in Newton, Mass., and now in San Francisco.
