Over an 8-week period starting on February 3rd- March 30th Stonehill College will be participating in RecycleMania 2013.
RecycleManiais a friendly competition for college and university recycling programs to promote waste reduction activities on their college campus. Stonehill is one of over 600 schools competing, and we are encouraging the whole campus to participate!
Each school will be ranked in various categories, including:
- Which school recycles the most on a per capita basis
- Which school has the best recycling rate as a percentage of total waste
- Which school generates the least amount of combined trash and recycling
Recycling materials counted for the competition include:
- Office paper
- Magazines
- Newspaper
- Phone books
- Aluminum cans
- Glass bottles and jars
- #1 through #7 plastic
- Cardboard
- Electronics
