International Extension Program

Stonehill's International Extension program is an expression of the ideals set forth in the College's Mission Statement, and is based on the Catholic principles of social justice and the preferential option for the poor.

Objectives

During 11-month cultural service experience in India, the Dominican Republic, or Honduras, recent Stonehill graduates help children in various capacities and advocate the program's four core principles:

  • Service
  • Simple Living
  • Community
  • Spirituality

Living in Solidarity

In drawing near to the poor in service, volunteers engage in a simple lifestyle as an expression of solidarity with the children they will serve. These living experiences in the Dominican Republic, Honduras and India are strengthened, supported, and challenged by a life shared together in community. Volunteers live and work together, foster fellowship with one another, and gather regularly for shared experiences of reflection.

A Growth Opportunity

The International Extension Program offers recent Stonehill graduates an opportunity for personal and professional growth as well as a unique chance to experience cultural integration and service, discover a new sense of community and grow in love of God and neighbor.
