Advisor Information

As an academic advisor, you play a key role in supporting your advisees' academic success - whether through helping your advisees to select the courses that will best fulfill their requirements or compliment their interests, or acting as a trusted confidant who can connect them to other on-campus resources.

Advisor Duties during Course Registration:

  • Be available through office hours or a scheduled appointment to meet with your advisee(s) 
  • Provide your advisees with their pin number
  • Review your advisees' degree audit, myAudit, with them - access through the Faculty Services tab in myHill
  • Advise on a course-selection plan that will help your advisees to: continue to make major/minor progress in a logical sequence, complete unmet Cornerstone requirements, and/or explore areas of interest to supplement their course of study

Advisor Duties Year-Round:

  • First and foremost, let your advisee know that you can help connect them with on-campus resources if they are struggling in a class or elsewhere see here for academic support services
  • Be familiar with Stonehill's Cornerstone Program of General Education requirements 
  • Have clearly-posted office hours and contact information so your advisee can get in touch with you at any point during the year
  • Alert the Office of Academic Services at x1306 if your advisee is struggling or not in communication with you
