Preparing For Finals

  • Prepare yourself mentally by finding out what the exam will cover (chapters, notes, handouts)
  • Organize your time by making up an exam schedule for yourself, including study time, meals, rest and recreation
  • Study in an environment free from distractions
  • Find out if the exam is objective (multiple choice, fill-in the blanks, matching) or subjective (essay)
  • Form a study group in the library
  • Ask questions from your notes by jotting down questions in the margin
  • Study a little bit each day to alleviate cramming

  • Learn to relax by taking some deep breaths before the exam begins
