Residence Hall Association
Hall Council organizes events that occur in and for their individual residence halls. Different halls across campus are known for hosting different events. Boland Hall holds a program called Tea at Ten, at which donuts, bagels and tea are sold to residents; Pilgrim Heights gives out "Cascino Cash," which can be used at "Cascino Night;" and the Courts are known for their annual carnival, Coutsapalooza! Many other events are planned by the Hall Councils, and occur throughout the year.
The Residence Hall Association has several annual events that they are well known for. Around Halloween, we turn the Holy Cross Center into a haunted house. A hay ride drives around campus bringing students to the event. Every hallway in the building has its own spooky attraction, and is sponsored by the various Hall Councils. In addition to the Haunted Sem, they do the Shovel Bowl every year. It is a true battle of the residence halls. Each team races through a series of stations, such as the log rolling down Donahue Hill, apple bobbing, Stonehill trivia, and the grand finale - the human taco. The champion residence hall receives the coveted golden shovel to hang in their building and all the bragging rights they desire.
