Nakamichi Gospel Concert Welcomes Local Singer

The annual Nakamichi Concert Series Gospel Concert will welcome distinguished gospel singer Darlene Wynn on Tuesday, November 15 at 8 p.m. in the Martin Institute. All are welcome to attend the concert, free of charge.

Singing gospel since the age of three, Wynn has enjoyed a highly successful career, which has included two international tours and featured appearances with numerous renowned artists. Wynn was an original member of the recording group Family.

Over the years, she has appeared with artists which include Leontyne Price at Symphony Hall, Shirley Caesar at Hynes Auditorium, John Tesch at the Fleet Pavilion, Charlie Daniels, Helen Baylor, Richard Smallwood, Vicki Winans and Rodney Posey.

As a solo artist, Wynn has participated in several studio album projects with artists such as Freda Battle and the Temple Worshippers, Clarence Powell, Leon Beal, Athene Wilson, Steve Cummings and many others.

Wynn has also done numerous music workshops, television and radio commercials, and was a featured soloist for the 250 voice Mystic Choral for three consecutive years. Recently, she completed a much anticipated solo album called, "The Gift of Song."

As an active member of the Concord Baptist Church in Milton, Wynn is the President of the Women of Praise Choir, Coordinator for the Praise and Worship Ministry, Advisory Council member of Women's Ministry, and a member of the Vision Committee.

The E. Nakamichi Foundation and Stonehill sponsor the Nakamichi Concert Series. The program is supported, in part, by a grant from the Easton Cultural Council, a local agency that is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
