Preserving the Past
August 03, 2011

When Ed Nordberg '52, a member of Stonehill's first graduating class, came across his old letter sweater, he knew exactly what he had to do. He gave it to the College.
In mint condition, the handsome purple sweater with intertwined white S & C letters on its left side is now framed and mounted.
It hangs on a wall in the Alumni Office, which recently moved to a the Merkert-Tracy (old science) Building.
Memorabilia like this classic sweater brings past traditions to life. Given their value in terms of Stonehill history, we ask alumni to think twice before discarding College artifacts, pictures, special programs or uniforms that they might have.
If in doubt, call the Alumni Office at 508-565-1343.
If you have something timeless or unusual, they would like to know and will work to find a way to preserve it so that new alumni generations can get a feel for College history and tradition.
