The Washington Center

The Washington Center assists students with internship placement and provides weekly seminars with impressive guest speakers from fields including journalism, government, and business. In addition, students are required to register for an academic course that will meet for one evening each week.
Students receive 15 credits distributed as follows:
- 9 Credits: Full-time internship in the student's major department pending the approval of the department faculty moderator. Students will work four to four and a half days per week for fourteen weeks.
- 3 Credits: Paper/journal/portfolio* based on the learning from the internship experience which will be awarded in the student's major department. (*Requirements vary based on individual departments)
- 3 Credits: Interdisciplinary elective will be awarded for the Washington Forum course offered by the Washington Center.
Housing is provided in fully-furnished apartments in Washington D.C., northern Virginia and Bethesda, Maryland.
