Within the business community and especially in the fields of corporate finance, economics, banking and investment management, the use of information from the database services supplied by Bloomberg LLP has become 'the gold standard' of business operations. Stonehill College recognizes the importance of preparing its students for postgraduate opportunities and has made a commitment to encourage all students in the College who have an interest in learning the Bloomberg database to participate in Bloomberg Certification Training.
Bloomberg terminals are available in the Business and Computer Information Center located on the first floor of Stanger Hall (C-109). Introductory sessions will run regularly throughout the academic year. However, it is easy to get going on your own. As this is a self-study program conducted through the Bloomberg terminal, all interested students are encouraged to use this guide to introduce themselves to the program requirements and assist with getting started.
REMEMBER TO BRING HEADPHONES OR EARPHONES TO LISTEN TO THE TUTORIALS SO YOU WILL NOT DISTURB YOUR NEIGHBORS. (Connect these into the jacks on the back of the keyboard.) Also, it would be helpful to have pen and paper available to take notes as you progress through the instructive videos.
Professor Michael G. Mullen, CFA
