Monday Morning Update

January 31, 2011

Top Play: Our men's basketball team earned the "Top Play of the Day" on ESPN's flagship program "SportsCenter" after junior forward Patrick Lee lifted the Skyhawks to an 84-82 overtime victory over Le Moyne last Tuesday. Lee's turnaround half court heave at the buzzer was the #1 play on the show's popular "Top Ten Plays of the Day" segment. To see a video of Lee's buzzer beater on SportsCenter, visit here.

Federal Regulations: Ensuring compliance with burgeoning federal regulations is no easy task, but doing so is imperative in business today. In two recent publications, Eileen O'Leary '91, assistant vice president of student financial services, shared her expertise on how best to create policies and procedures that ensure compliance. Shout Out: Business Administration major Stephen Murphy '79 was elected President of the Boston City Council by his fellow councilors early in January. A city councilor since 1997, Murphy noted that budget woes, with Boston expected to lose $71 million in federal aid, will make this year a challenging one.
