Hillspot secure wireless - Apple OSX 10.6 configuration (Snow Leopard)

Step 1: Click the AirPort Icon in the upper right hand side of the menu bar at the top of the screen. Then, select Join Other Network

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 2: Enter the network name of the wireless network(SSID): hillspot

Make sure that "Remember this Network" is checked off.

 

 

 

 

Step 3: While in the same window, Select security type, Security: WPA2 Enterprise,

then enter in your user name and password.

Leave 802.1X set to automatic. Click Join.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 4: Verify certificate window should pop up. Then, select Show Certificate

Step 5: Make sure that Always Trust "sampleserver@samplecompany.com" is checked off.
Then, click Continue.

Step 6:

For School Owned Laptops: Enter your Stonehill Domain Username and Password. Then click OK

For Personal Laptops: Enter your personal computer Username and Password. Then click OK

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 7: You are now connected to the hillspot Secure Wireless Network. To check the status of this connection, click the AIRPORT icon in the upper right hand side of the menu bar at the top of the screen again.

Note that hillspot is checked off.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 8: While still in the Airport Icon menu, select Open Network preferences

Step 9: In the Network Preferences window, Select the Advanced button in the bottom right-hand corner of the window.

 

 

 

 

 

Step 10: In the following Advanced AirPort Network Preferences window, Select hillspot from the Preferred Networks list

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 11: Move hillspot to the top of the Preferred Networks list. This way, hillspot will be the first wireless network your computer connects to while on the Stonehill Campus. Click OK

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 12: In the Network Preferences window, Click Apply in the lower right-hand corner. Then close

the Network Preferences by clicking on the Red Circle in the top, left-hand corner. You have successfully configured secure wireless for Apple OSX 10.6( SnowLeopard).
