Hillspot Secure Wireless-Vista configuration

Step 1: Click on START, then CONTROL PANEL

Step 2: Click on NETWORK and INTERNET

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 3: Click on Connect to a Network, located under Network and Sharing Center)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 4: Click on Setup a Connection or Network located under the box that shows active networks

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 5: Click on Manually Connect to a Wireless Network, the click Next...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 6: In the Manually Connect to a Wireless Network window, set the fields as follows:

Network Name: hillspot

Security: WPA2-Enterprise

Encryption TYpe: AES

Select "Start this connection automatically." and "Connect even if network is not broadcasting". Click Next.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 7: In the Manually Connect to a Wireless Network window, select Change Connection Settings.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 8: In the hillspot Wireless Network Properties Window, click on Security tab.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Click on Settings button on the right of Microsoft:Protected EAP (PEAP)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 9: In the Protected EAP Properties window:
Un check Validate server certificate
Select Authentication Method: Secured password (EAP-MSCHAP v2)
Then click Configure

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In the EAP MSCHAPv2 Properties window:
Un-check Automatically use my Windows logon name and password (and domain if any)

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 10: In the Protected EAP Properties Window, click OK

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In the hillspot Wireless Network Properties Window, click OK

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 11: You should see white bubble pop up (Wireless Network Connection) in bottom right hand corner of your desktop requesting Additional information to connect to hillspot
Click inside this bubble.

 

Step 12: You should see a login box open in the center of the desktop.
Enter your (stonehill Domain) username and password (leave the domain field blank)
Click OK

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

You will now be connected to the hillspot wireless network.
