Innovative Student Living: On this day 45 years ago the College began construction on what was then heralded as a groundbreaking concept in student living- the townhouse style concept of Commonwealth Court. The new construction even captured the attention of the New York Times.

In her element, surrounded by art, Art History Professor Carole Calo (circa 2004) whose vision and leadership gave the arts a more substantial visible presence at Stonehill.

This mural of campus life used to hang in the Hill from 2000 to 2003. After a recent renovation, it was rediscovered.

In this undated photo, Professor of German Edward (Ted) MacLeod teaches students in the language lab in Duffy. In 1986, friends and family of the late Professor MacLeod established a scholarship in his name and it is awarded annually to a deserving student majoring in foreign language.

This week’s Flashback Friday pays homage to the College’s longest-serving chief academic officer. Katie Conboy began her career at Stonehill in 1987 when she joined the English Department as an assistant professor of English. Simmons College announced today the appointment of Conboy as its new Provost and Senior Vice President.
