Bauman Collection Open House

October 21, 2010

On Tuesday, October 26, the Stonehill Archives will host an open house featuring the work of Brockton photographer Stanley Bauman from 3-7 p.m. in Room 208 of the Martin Institute. Author Jim Benson
will discuss his recent book Brockton, which features many Bauman photos, from 7-8 p.m.

The Bauman Collection includes over 500,000 negatives, which was donated to the College following his passing at the age of 93. Bauman had promised his collection to Stonehill in 1998 as he served as the College's official photographer for over three decades.

Included in the open house will be tours of the Bauman Collection, a digital slide show featuring historic pictures of Brockton and the opportunity to view photo albums of heavyweight champion Rocky Marciano.

The open house will also kick-off an eight-week print sale in which a selection of Bauman prints will be offered for sale at 40 percent off regular prices.

Copies of Benson's book will be available for $20.00 during the open house and Benson will be available to sign books after his talk. Books sold will also include a 20% off coupon toward any Bauman Print.
