Meet CNM's Interns

CNM Social Media, Marketing & Communications Interns

Deanna Celi '13

My name is Deanna Celi and I'm from Reading, Massachusetts.  I am a member of Stonehill College's class of 2013.  I'm majoring in English and minoring in Communication.  At Stonehill, I am a HOPE student leader, co-president of English Society, and vice president of Africa Service Project. During the spring 2012 semester, I studied abroad in Florence, Italy.  I have volunteered in many capacities throughout my time at Stonehill and have developed an deep passion for the work nonprofits do.  This semester, I will also be participating in the Developing Fundraising Leaders Institute program run through the Center.  Upon graduation I will be pursuing a career in nonprofits, focusing on the marketing/public relations/community outreach area.  I look forward to interning in Social Media and Marketing at the Center this semester.  I am sure I will learn invaluable skills that will help me throughout my career.

Melissa LaNeve '13

Hello! My name is Melissa LaNeve and I am from Franklin, MA. I am currently a senior Psychology major and Business Administration minor here at Stonehill. Outside of class I am the president of Stonehill's Habitat for Humanity chapter, an ITS coordinator, and a Moreau Student Minister. Serving others has always been a major part of my life and something I hope to continue doing after graduation. My work with Habitat for Humanity has been eye opening and has shown me just how important nonprofit work is. One day I hope to be involved in the marketing and advertising areas of nonprofits and to eventually run my own. The internship opportunity here at The Center for Nonprofit Management is something so unique to any other I have come across. It will be beneficial in the marketing area but more importantly in becoming knowledgeable about the inner workings of nonprofit organizations in general. I am extremely excited to see what can be accomplished this semester!

CNM Program Intern

Julia Crane '13

Hello, my name is Julia Crane and I am a senior English and Sociology major, minoring in French.  At Stonehill, I like to give tours in the Office of Admission and help advise students traveling abroad through the Office of International Programs.  I've also been involved with the Honors Advisory Council, the H.O.P.E. program, and S.U.R.E. research.  During my semester in Galway, Ireland, I partook in a literacy service project; that experience, other service opportunities, and internships like one in Stonehill's Advancement Office have inspired me to learn more about making a difference by working in the nonprofit sector.  I am excited about the knowledge and experience I will gain as an intern at the Center for Nonprofit Management, and I look forward to applying my skills to nonprofit work in the future.

CNM DFLI Program Intern

Brianna Lertora '13

Hello! My name is Brianna Lertora and I am the Program Intern for the Center for Nonprofit Management this spring. I am a senior majoring in Communication and Spanish with a minor in Journalism. Stonehill has given me wonderful opportunities to learn, both in and out of the classroom, and to apply that knowledge through service and internships. I have interned for two nonprofits while at Stonehill, and my experiences have shown me that this field is where I belong. I'm currently enrolled in the Developing Fundraising Leaders Institute (DFLI) with the Center, where I will gain even more valuable knowledge about the ins and outs of running a nonprofit. Stonehill's emphasis on service, and on educating students who work "toward the creation of a more just and compassionate world," sparked in me the desire to eventually start a career with a nonprofit focusing on women's education and empowerment. I am excited to learn as much as I can from my internship with CNM this semester!

CNM Resource Room Interns

Ravi Dhameja '15

Hello! My name is Ravi Dhameja and I am a sophomore Interdisciplinary Studies major with a concentration in Criminology and a minor in Business Administration. I am very excited to intern with Stonehill College's Center for Nonprofit Management as a Resource Room Intern to gain the extremely valuable educational information needed to run a nonprofit. For me, volunteering started in high school. I then chose to attend Stonehill because of its strong community service program. Since my time at Stonehill, I coordinate the education and tutoring programs through ITS, I have been to Nicaragua with the HOPE program and this year I will be leading the trip to West Virginia, I volunteer with Best Buddies, and am also part of the Americorps program. I am very passionate about trying to end all of the social justice issues that stand in this world. I believe that by interning with CNM this semester, it will give me a good foundation in trying to complete my future goals.

Anna Tallmadge '15

My name is Anna Tallmadge and I am a sophomore Biology major at Stonehill College. I was born and raised in Vermont but Stonehill has quickly become a second home. I can be seen around campus running outside, studying into the wee small hours of the morning, tutoring in the Writing Center and attending HOPE meetings. At Stonehill, I've really found my passions and interests. I am passionate about Global Health and I have lofty goals of someday working internationally with a focus on infectious disease and immunology. In the realm of Global Health, some of the most successful organizations are nonprofits. Therefore, I expect (and hope) to work with several globally based nonprofit organizations and perhaps, one day, set up my own. I am excited to be joining the Center for Nonprofit Management as a Resource Room Intern. I hope my experience here will give me real-life skills in the nonprofit sector and serve as my platform for learning about what makes a nonprofit successful and efficient.

Lynley Joynt '13

My name is Lynley Joynt and I am a senior from Guilderland, New York.  I will graduate with a double major in International Business and Spanish.  Last spring I studied abroad in Sevilla, Spain where I was lucky enough to experience Spanish culture for four incredible months.  On campus I have been a member of the women's cross country and track and field teams, and I also enjoy volunteering with My Brother's Keeper.  Volunteering with such a fantastic organization sparked my interest in nonprofits and how they operate.  As a Resource Room Intern, I look forward to meeting with different nonprofit leaders and assisting them in their grant and peer research.  I hope that getting an inside look at important aspects of nonprofit management will provide me with the skills to pursue a career in the field after graduation.
