Parade Magazine

No disrespect to Harvard, Yale, and Princeton, but you don't need to attend a fabled Ivy to get a big-league education. Parade asked top high school counselors across the nation to recommend outstanding schools that often fly under the radar.

In a list based on the recommendations of 43 top high school guidance counselors across the country, Stonehill is listed with 25 other private schools including Bates College in Lewiston, Maine and Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon.

Parade says: "Private schools encourage more contact between professors and students, which can lead to job opportunities after graduation. Students are less likely to fall through the cracks. At Stonehill, for example, not showing up for class can result in a phone call from the professor."

PARADE magazine is distributed in more than 400 newspapers across the country. According to Crain's New York Business, PARADE is the most widely read magazine in the U.S., with a weekly print circulation of 32 million and a readership of 71 million.
