The Hill Renovation
The Hill Renovation - NOW OPEN!!
Stonehill College increased its enrollment to 2,500 FTE in the Fall of 2010. This increase put an additional demand on our dining facilities necessitating a renovation of The Hill dining space in the Roche Dining Commons.
Stonehill College hired Connor Architecture, LLC to re-design The Hill. Working with Student Activities, Student Affairs, and Sodexo they came up with a new design that improved "traffic flow" around the food service area, brightened up the space with fabrics and textures, and utilized the overall space more efficiently for programming and events.
The entrance to The Hill is be completely opened up allowing for better visibility into the space. The food service area is now centrally located and offers exclusive menu items such as sushi, flat bread pizza, and Starbuck's coffee. Booths and banquettes line the perimeter of the space with pub height tables and lounge furniture in the center. New lighting, colors, and architectural elements create a bright and fun atmosphere where students will want to go to grab a meal, hang out with their friends, or sit with their laptops and check their e-mail via the wireless internet connection.
