Central File Share (CFS) Service
The Central File Share service enables secure file storage on the Stonehill network for faculty, administrators and staff. Folders on the CFS are created for college departments and are commonly referred to as mapped, shared or network drives. The CFS is the most secure method to store college information. Use of the CFS is required for confidential and internal use only information, as designated in F9.2 "Information Security Policy". It offers convenience, mobility and flexibility by making files centrally accessible from any computer, either on campus or remotely connected to the network via VPN.
Benefits
- Daily backups performed by IT
- Consolidation of department information into a single location
- User-managed permissions to restrict folder access
- Same view of folder and files from any Windows or Mac
- Off-campus access to files through the secure VPN connection
