The Skyhawk basketball teams have both earned bids to the NCAA Division II Championships. The men's team was named the top seed and will host the East Regionals, beginning Saturday, March 13. The Skyhawks will play Felican College in one of four quarterfinal match-ups at Merkert Gymnasium that day. The women's team, seeded third, will face sixth-seeded Bentley College on Friday, March 12 in Fitchburg.
This marks the tenth NCAA bid for the men while the women have now earned 20 bids to the NCAA Tournament. The men hosted the East Regional Championships in 2006 when they advanced to the Final Four. The women reached the East Regional final last season before falling to eventual national runners-up Franklin Pierce.
