Alan is the principal and founder of Bantam Investments, LLC. Bantam Investments has interests in real estate, asset based lending and private equity. Alan recently retied from the General Electric Company after 24 years of service. His last role with GE was in The Netherlands where he served as the President and Chief Executive Officer for GE Capital's European Equipment Service division. This diverse group of businesses provided financial and logistics solutions for the rail, container and road transportation industries across Europe. It also provided construction equipment and vehicle rental solutions for businesses in the United Kingdom.
Prior to assuming his position in Europe, Alan spent over 10 years in leadership positions for GE Capital in Asia. From 1995-1999 he was based in Hong Kong as the Managing Director of GE Capital's Asset lending business for China, South East Asia and Australia/NZ. In this role, he helped to spearhead GE's Capital's expansion into the Asian market. In 2000 he moved to Japan and assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer of GE Capital Leasing in Tokyo, Japan. In 2002, Alan was appointed President and CEO of GE Capital Asia Equipment Finance. In this role, he had responsibility for GE Capital's Asset Based Leasing and lending businesses in Japan, China, Korea, India, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Australia/NZ, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand.
Originally from Long Island, NY, Alan received a BA from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. He also received an MBA in International Finance from St. John's University.
In addition to serving on Stonehill's Board of Trustees, Alan also serves on the Board of Fellows of Trinity College and remains active in a number of volunteer and charitable organizations.
Alan and his wife Beth and two children (including Jennifer/Stonehill '11) now make their US home in Naples, Florida.
