Intramural Sports Teams

Having the opportunity to participate in both formal and informal recreational outlets is a vital part of everyday life. The Intramural Sports Program at Stonehill College seeks to provide formal recreational sports opportunities to all students, faculty, and staff.

Italian Club

The Italian Club provides an environment for the appreciation of the Italian language and culture by sponsoring educational and social programs. The club strives to educate the Stonehill community about Italy's culture and allows for members to enhance their language skills.

Knights of Columbus

Knights gather in prayer and in service to the Church, the Stonehill community and to humanity as a whole. Using our four ideals of "Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism", we help to foster communal justice, compassion, and responsibility in our community members.

Lacrosse Team (Men's)

Men's Lacrosse is an intercollegiate sport club team.

Marketing Management Association

The Marketing Management Association at Stonehill College seeks to enhance the educational experience and professional development of students interested in the field of marketing and management and its various functions. Through guest speakers, panel presentations and club discussions, the vast opportunities available in these business fields are explored.

Mock Trial

Stonehill College's mock trial team competes against other colleges in preparing and conducting a trial based upon a packet of materials published by the American Mock Trial Association.

The process blends the practice of law with a dramatic edge, giving students the chance to either take on the role of a lawyer or witness, depending on individual interests and abilities. Each role contributes significantly to the overall goal, to perform well at competition.

Model UN

Model UN educates students about the different cultural, social, and traditional perspectives around the world that often dictate the foreign policies of other nations. The club increases students' understanding of and familiarity with international politics as well as with public speaking through discussions and debates on current events.

Musical Theater Club

The Stonehill Musical Theater Club is for all students interested in the art of musical theater. The Stonehill Musical Theater Club is entirely student run and performs a full-length theater production and a cabaret performance on alternating semesters.

Neuroscience Society

Joining together those in the Stonehill community who have interest in Neuroscience, this club promotes brain and neurological well-being awareness, shows how Neuroscience can be interesting and fun and connects and buildsa community amongst other science and Neuroscience majors.

Philosophy Society

This organization promotes critical thinking through the medium of philosophical thought and discussion with other students, faculty, and outside speakers. It provides a forum for students to express and debate philosophical views concerning religious, ontological, epistemological and ethical philosophy.

Pre-Dental Society

Pre-dental Society members share a passion and interest in dentistry, oral health, and future careers in the dental profession. The members intend to participate in community, social, and educational programs to enrich their knowledge and understanding of dental medicine.

Programming Committee

The Programming Committee exists to ensure quality, safe programming for the Stonehill community. It is responsible for planning and executing themed weekends during various times of the academic year. These weekends include, but are not limited to: Welcome Back, Freak Week, Finals Countdown, Snow Flakin' Fun, HillaPalooza and Spring Weekend.

The following sub-committees are responsible for providing events and programs within their respective areas:

Concert Coffeehouse

Concert/Coffeehouse is dedicated to providing students with musical entertainment. The Committee organizes student coffeehouses and sponsors various concerts throughout the year.

Movie/Comedy

Movie/Comedy provides movies and comedic performances for the campus to enjoy. The Committee sponsors a free movie series to students and is responsible for bringing a series of stand-up comedians to campus each semester.

Special Events

Special Events sponsors various game shows, give-aways, and other events that are creative and new for the Stonehill College community. The Spring Weekend Carnival which consists of rides and games, is one of the traditional events planned by this committee.

Spirit

Spirit sponsors various events that promote school spirit around athletics, academics or otherwise. The main goal of this committee is to promote Stonehill College in a positive way and maintain school spirit throughout the entire school year.

Trip

Trip offers students the opportunity to travel off campus and attend various sporting events, theatre venues, cultural events, social programs by offering students discounted tickets and transportation.

PRIDE (Providing a Responsible, Inclusive, and Diverse Environment)

PRIDE is dedicated to creating a humane campus environment for all persons regardless of sexual orientation by educating the campus community on issues related to homosexuality and bisexuality.

Psychology Society

The Psychology Society is geared toward Psychology Majors or those interested in the field. Through guest speakers, programs, and various club discussions − the opportunities of psychology are explored.

Public Relations Society

The Public Relations Society is geared toward Communication Majors or those interested in the field. Through guest speakers, programs, and various club discussions the public relations profession is explored.

Religious Studies Society

The Religious Studies Society exists to cultivate conversation outside the classroom amongst Religious Studies majors and those interested in religion as a topic. The Society also hopes to nurture religious diversity by presenting the Stonehill community with new ideas, beliefs, and cultures through sponsored events.

Riding Club

The Stonehill Riding Club offers its members a chance to learn and continue the enjoyment of riding in a noncompetitive setting. Educational activities are created and provided for equine enthusiasts, and social and volunteer activities are offered for all individuals interested in horses.

Rolling Stonehill

Rolling Stonehill is a student-run arts and entertainment magazine that publishes several editions each semester. It reviews various artistic and entertaining venues in the great Boston area and makes recommendations to the student body for weekend or weekday visits.

RUCKUS Step Squad

RUCKUS is Stonehill's Step Dance Squad. Step Dance is the art of rhythmic dancing usually performed to a strong percussion beat. RUCKUS does several performances a year. Any skill level is welcome to join the team.

Rugby Teams (Women's & Men's)

Stonehill Rugby Teams are intercollegiate sport club teams.

Running Club

The Running Club provides a means for students who enjoy running to do it together. The club welcomes the entire spectrum of runners; from those that simply want to stay in shape and meet new people, to those that want to train for off-campus races and improve their personal record time.

Silent Witness Initiative (SWI)

SWI promotes and educates the campus about issues of domestic violence, including warning signs, prevention and how to help individuals deal with these situations.

Ski & Snowboard Club

The Ski and Snowboard Club is for any student with an interest in skiing and snowboarding. The club sponsors several different student trips to various locations in the northeast for a discounted price.

Society of Motion Pictures & Television Engineers (SMPTE)

SMPTE creates education in the engineering and technical aspects of film-making, hosts lectures and exhibitions, and promotes the interests of students concerned with motion-picture, television, and allied arts and sciences.

Spanish Club

The Spanish Club provides an environment for the appreciation of the Spanish Language and also works to enhance members' language skills through the practice of Spanish. The club educates the Stonehill Community about all things Hispanic while celebrating the culture of Spain and Latin America.

St. Thomas More Pre-Law Society

The St. Thomas More Law Society is geared toward those interested in pursuing the field of law. Through guest speakers, programs, and various club discussions - the opportunities of law are explored.

Students for Environmental Action (SEA)

SEA promotes the awareness of environmental issues that affect both the Stonehill Community and the global environment.

Student Government Association (SGA)

The Student Government Association of Stonehill College is the main representative for the student body. The SGA oversees: student initiated policies, the monies collected from the student activities fee, much of the large-scale programming that occurs on campus, and all recognized student clubs and organizations.

Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE)

SIFE members work to bring together the top leaders of today and tomorrow to create a better, more sustainable world through the use of business principles and business models. The club promotes the awareness of business opportunities to address and solve social problems by creating outreach projects that improve the quality of life and standard of living.

The Summit

The Summit is Stonehill's award winning student-run newspaper. Publishing several issues a semester, The Summit tries to tackle both hard stories affecting student life at Stonehill as well as approach the lighter side of Stonehill with interesting and thought provoking human interest stories.

Surround Sound

Surround Sound is a co-ed a cappella performing group on campus. They perform at various college functions and events. Auditions are held at the beginning of each semester.

Swim Club

The Swim Club is for any student interested in recreational swimming. The club takes its members once a week to a local YMCA to use their pool.

Ultimate Disc Teams (Women's & Men's)

Stonehill's Ultimate Disc Teams are intercollegiate club sport teams.

Volleyball Team (Men's)

Men's Volleyball Team is an intercollegiate club sport team.

WSHL-FM

WSHL is Stonehill's student managed and operated radio station. WSHL broadcasts day and night, 7 days a week. Located at 91.3 megahertz on the FM dial, WSHL covers a 20-mile area of approximately 160,000 people. DJ's play different types of music from alternative and independent rock, to dance, rap, metal, techno, punk, world, ska and much more.

Young Americans for Liberty

The Young Americans for Liberty seek to educate and inform the Stonehill population about libertarian principles, public policy, and the United States Constitution. The club aims to raise awareness about the political nature of the United States and continue the fight against apathy by encouraging students to think critically about important issues presently facing our country.
