DaPonte brings several years of expertise in religious studies and theology to Stonehill. Most recently, he lectured in theology and philosophy at Boston College and prior to that taught religious studies at Salve Regina University. During a research year at Oxford University, he concurrently served as a theological consultant/curriculum writer for the Archdiocese of Birmingham in the United Kingdom.

His research interests include liberation theology, Trinity and identity, theological anthropology, creation theology and quantum and chaos systems, and religion and violence.
