LC 270 Music, Culture, and Politics in the U.S.-Latin American Relationship
This Learning Community consists of an in-depth exploration of Latin American-American politics and culture punctuated by a visit to Mexico City. The relationship between the United States and Latin America is complex, often hallmarked by the divisive issues of trade, migration and immigration, and drug trafficking. But there is also a shared history between the two regions that is expressed in culture, music, and food. The largest metropolis in the Western hemisphere, Mexico City is recognized as the "Capital" of Latin America and will afford us first hand experiences with Latin culture and politics, music, art and food.
LC 270 will be in Mexico City from March 6 until March 15. You can follow us as we travel through Mexico City in our day to day itinerary.
