Career Paths for Students Who Plan to Major in Neuroscience
Entry-Level Employment
The many entrance-level options for students with a Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience include:
- research technician
- marketing/sales position in biotech/research supply companies
- public health or patent law
Pursuit of Advanced Degrees
Students with a Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience are well prepared for pursuing post-baccalaureate degrees. Students may choose to apply to medical school or graduate school.
M.D.
With an M.D. students may specialize in any field including Neurology or Psychiatry. Alternatively, students may pursue graduate school in:
- Biology
- Experimental Psychology
- Counseling/Clinical Psychology
- Biochemistry
- Biotechnology
- Pharmacology
- Business
Ph.D.
With a Ph.D. an individual may become a Neurophysiologist, Neuroscientist, Neuropathologist, or Psychologist.
