R.A.C.E. Discussion Group
Raising Awareness of Cultural Experiences (R.A.C.E.) is a 5-week discussion group for members of the Stonehill community to explore issues of race, racism, power and privilege in our lives. Through activities, readings, and intergroup dialogue, R.A.C.E. participants will engage in meaningful conversations that seek to educate and empower. R.A.C.E. discussion groups meet as a cohort, and group members are expected to attend each session. Each semester, a new cohort will be offered, and a 'series' length is 5 weeks.
Week 1: Introduction to Conversations on Diversity
Week 2: Ethnicity and Race
Week 3 : Majority, Minority, and Power
Week 4: Racism: Then and Now
Week 5: Reducing Prejudice and Building Anti-Racism
If you are interested in applying for the discussion group, simply send an email with your statement of interest to Diversity@stonehill.edu. The group is limited to 8 participants in the cohort model.
