How the employment process works at Stonehill
Positions at Stonehill are listed under four categories. The hiring process for each classification is handled differently and therefore dependent on the office involved. The Human Resources Department may or may not be directly involved in each search.
The four categories are:

- Faculty
Administrators
Full and part-time administrative positions exist within the various departments of the college. Generally, a bachelor's degree and previous experience are minimum qualifications for these positions. Stonehill strives to offer career development for its employees through an internal hiring process before external applicants are considered.
Staff
Most positions provide full or part-time work during regular business hours, Monday-Friday. Stonehill strives to offer career development for its employees through an internal hiring process before external applicants are considered.
Staff employment consists of the following:
- Office/Secretarial
- Mailroom
- Library Support
- Switchboard
Facilities Management/Campus Police
Positions in the Facilities Management/Campus Police area include licensed trades, grounds, maintenance, custodial, and campus police. These are union positions, represented by AFL-CIO Local #615 Services Union. As such, seniority and internal hiring processes apply before external candidates are considered.

Faculty
Full-time tenure track employment - defined as employment offering tenure track or potential tenure track status, exists at the associate or assistant professor level and generally requires a Ph.D. in the related discipline involved.
