Professor Rapp taught Engineering courses at Tufts University. He then served as a Statistical Services and Data Processing Officer in the US Air Force. Following that he was employed as a Nuclear Power ship design Engineer for the Bethlehem Steel Corp. He then formed a Data Center in Boston and as a consultant served as an Adjunct Professor and Chairman of the MIS Department at New Hampshire College where he taught IT and Mathematics for 4 years. He consulted in a similar role at Mount Ida College for 8 years.
Then, for 13 years, was MIS Director for a Pharmacy and Retail store operation and then was Vice President of IT for a pharmaceutical dispensing corporation from which he retired in 1996. He has been affiliated with Stonehill College since then. He also teaches Science to two grades of elementary school and has a traveling science program.
Research Interests:
Current and future uses of computer technology for Health Care management.

- "Rapping About Science," a specialized science program presented to several Massachusetts schools in preparation for state exams, approximately 20 presentations per year.
- Key Note Speaker to Catholic Secondary School educators' conference held at Stonehilll regarding "The Future Role of Computers in Education."
