Please refer to the Holiday/Day Off policy for specifics.
Vacation:
Non-Exempt (Hourly) Employees: Eligible full-time employees accrue 2.69 hours of vacation/pay period, or the equivalent of 10 days per year (2 weeks). Upon completion of the 4th year of employment, employees accrue 4.04 hours/pay period or the equivalent of 15 days per year (3 weeks). Upon completion of 9 years of employment, employees accrue 5.39 hours/pay period or the equivalent of 20 days per year (4 weeks). Employees must be regularly scheduled for a minimum of 20 hours per week to earn vacation.
Exempt (Salaried) Employees: Eligible full-time (35 hours/week) employees accrue 5.39 hours of vacation/pay period or the equivalent of 20 days per year ( 4 weeks). Vacation accrual is prorated for part-time employees. Employees must be regularly scheduled for a minimum of 20 hours/week to earn vacation.
Maximum vacation accrual for all employees is 1-1/2 times the annual accrual. Academic year employees do not accrue vacation during the months they are not scheduled to work.
Sick Leave:
Sick time accrues at the rate of 4.04 hours/payperiod. The maximum accrual is 127 days. Sick time is pro-rated for part-time employees. Employees must be regularly scheduled for a minimum of 20 hours per week to earn sick accrual. Sick time may be used for your own illness or to care for an ill parent, spouse or dependent.

Employees may request to take an additional leave beyond 9 weeks as an entitlement under the Family and Medical Leave Act or as granted by Stonehill, the additional leave will be unpaid or paid with accrued vacation time (if accrued time is available it must be used). Sick leave may be used only if the employee is deemed medically disabled.
Jury Duty:
Stonehill College will compensate the first three (3) days of full service for employees who have jury duty. If an employee's jury duty extends beyond three (3) days, the College will reimburse the difference between what the State pays the employee and the employee's regular base rate for up to thirty (30) days.
Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA):
The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) of 1993 provides up to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave to eligible employees for certain family and medical reasons. Please see the policy for more details.
