Special Interest Housing
Special Interest Housing (themed housing) provides students with the opportunity to design a unique living environment that promotes individual student development while meeting the needs of the community at large.
Student groups selected to participate in the Special Interest Housing program will have the opportunity to live and work together around a common purpose or theme. Living together in a common suite, wing or townhouse allows students to live, study, and learn together to achieve the goals they set out to achieve. In the past, special interest themes have included foreign languages, wellness initiatives, environmental concerns, international experiences, community service, and social justice issues.
What Are The Advantages of Special Interest Housing?
- Special Interest Housing extends learning out-of-the classroom and can enhance both and residence life environment and the overall campus climate. Special Interest Housing is an exciting way to increase faculty and staff involvement in the residence halls.
- Special Interest Housing allows students to personalize their residential experience and tailor it to their own unique needs.
- Special Interest Housing fosters a strong partnership between students, faculty and staff.
