What to Bring / What Not To Bring
What to Bring to Campus
Students are encouraged to bring the following items to campus:
- Bed sheets (X-Long Twin)
- Blankets
- Towels
- Pillows & Pillow Cases
- A Desk Lamp (Halogen lamps are not permitted)
- A Wastebasket
- Clothes Hangers
- An Iron (must have automatic shutoff)
- Ironing Board (Optional)
- An Alarm Clock
What Not to Bring
The following items are prohibited by the College. Use/possession of these items may result in fines, a loss of merit points, or the loss of residency privileges:
- Firearms / Weapons
- Air Conditioners
- Candles/Incense
- Microwave Ovens
- Spider Extension Cords (also called Octopus Extension Cords)
- Cooking Appliances (Hot Plates, Broiler/Toaster Ovens, Popcorn Poppers)
- Electric Water Coolers
- Personal Bed Lofts
- Waterbeds
- Any furniture not specifically labeled as compliant with Cal 117 fire safety regulations.
- Large Posters (larger than 24" X 36")
- Large Refrigerators (over 4.5 cubic feet)
- Alcohol and Other Drugs (Alcohol is only allowed in designated upper class areas for students of legal drinking age)
- Halogen Lamps
- Hair Straighteners or Curling Irons without an automatic shutoff device
- Pets (other than fish).
