What to Bring to Campus

Students are encouraged to bring the following items to campus:

  • Bed sheets (X-Long Twin)
  • Blankets
  • Towels
  • Pillows & Pillow Cases
  • A Desk Lamp (Halogen lamps are not permitted)
  • A Wastebasket
  • Clothes Hangers
  • An Iron (must have automatic shutoff) 
  • Ironing Board (Optional)
  • An Alarm Clock

What Not to Bring

The following items are prohibited by the College.  Use/possession of these items may result in fines, a loss of merit points, or the loss of residency privileges:

  • Firearms / Weapons
  • Air Conditioners
  • Candles/Incense
  • Microwave Ovens
  • Spider Extension Cords (also called Octopus Extension Cords)
  • Cooking Appliances (Hot Plates, Broiler/Toaster Ovens, Popcorn Poppers)
  • Electric Water Coolers
  • Personal Bed Lofts
  • Waterbeds
  • Any furniture not specifically labeled as compliant with Cal 117 fire safety regulations.
  • Large Posters (larger than 24" X 36")
  • Large Refrigerators (over 4.5 cubic feet)
  • Alcohol and Other Drugs (Alcohol is only allowed in designated upper class areas for students of legal drinking age)
  • Halogen Lamps 
  • Hair Straighteners or Curling Irons without an automatic shutoff device
  • Pets (other than fish).
