General Technology Support

Stonehill seeks to support faculty in the effective use of technology in their research and teaching.  For help with a particular technology question or problem, please consult the following resources:

• For any problems with your computer, your software, the network, email, or classroom tools, please contact the Helpdesk (x4357).  Your call will be routed to the appropriate person.
• For consultations or support concerning the use of technology in a course, please contact Jan Harrison, Information Technology Trainer (x1096) or Fera Karakaya, Director of User Support Services (x1157).
• For pedagogical questions related to technology, please contact Stacy Grooters, Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning (x1324).

Faculty Computer Lab

Stonehill also makes a Faculty Computer Lab, Duffy 216, available to faculty and staff. 

The Faculty Lab can be accessed at any time by requesting the key from the Help Desk (Duffy 025). 

In addition, the lab is open during the following hours:

Feel free to drop in anytime during these hours or contact Jan Harrison (x1096) to set up an appointment to meet with an IT staff member or Faculty Mentor in the lab.

Two Faculty Mentors hold regular office hours in the lab to work with faculty on questions related to our new eLearn course management system: 

• Estelle Wenson (Communication) is available Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 - 2:30 and
• Amod Lele (Religious Studies) is available on Wednesdays from 11:00 - 6:00.

In addition, John Kitson will be available on Tuesdays from 2:30 - 5:30 to help faculty with media-related projects, such as video creation and editing, audio capture, and help with copying and creating CDs and DVDs.

Ryan McLaughlin, our work study student, also helps staff the lab Mondays and Wednesdays 2:30 - 4:30, Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:00 - 11:00, and Fridays 12:00 - 2:00.
