College Cancellation/Delayed Opening Policy

During inclement weather or in the event of an emergency condition existing on campus, the College strives to operate on the principle of maintaining service without unrealistically compromising safety. When it is necessary to close, ALL operations, including classes, work, events, activities, etc., will be cancelled with the exception of employees assigned to essential service areas (Switchboard, Facilities Management, Campus Police, Mail Services) and the College’s “Snow Team.”

The College may elect to delay the opening of daily business by 2 hours. A 2-hour delay will mean that the College will be closed from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. and will begin operating at 10 a.m. All classes and events that are scheduled to begin before 10 a.m. will be cancelled unless the class scheduled is an “all day” class, in which case that class will begin at 10am. When delays or cancellations occur during the final exam period, the missed exams will be re-scheduled either during the make-up time periods or on the day following the last date of scheduled exams.

A decision to close the College before it opens will be made via telephone recording by
6:30 a.m. on (508) 565-5000. On campus: Extension 5000. (In the event that the line is not answered, please try back immediately; it should be a very short wait to get through. Please do not call the switchboard operator.)

Cancellations will also be announced on the following radio/TV stations:

WBZ-1030AM Radio Boston

WBZ – TV (Channel 4) Boston

WCVB –TV (Channel 5) Boston

Stonehill Channel (Channel 70)

EARLY CLOSURE: Based on weather conditions, the College may close early. Every attempt will be made to announce the decision two hours before the time that the College will close.

Click on the down arrow and choose "1-Playlist 1: Normal."
