Stonehill Recreational Sports (SRS) is a department within the Student Affairs Division of Stonehill College. SRS services students, faculty, staff and administrators within the Stonehill Community in a variety of sports, fitness, wellness and recreational activities.
SRS strives to complement and supplement educational and academic environment by the philosophy of development of the whole person. By designing and administering structured and unstructured activities, the program encourages the physical, social and emotional development of the individual, as well as providing an environment which fosters respect and consideration for fellow participants and surrounding community service agencies.
It is important to the department that our activities and programs cater to our entire campus community by providing for age, gender, cultural, physical, spiritual and emotional differences. By doing this we will attempt to maximize both the quantity of campus wide participation as well as the quality of the experience. We attempt, whenever possible, to expand current facilities and to accommodate the recreational and fitness needs of the majority of the community.
As a member of the National Intramural and Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA), SRS espouses to and promotes ethical and healthy lifestyle choices which adamantly believes are essential components of the students ability to maximize academic excellence as well as properly balance their transition into future personal and professional advancement.
