When will the service upgrade take place?
The service upgrade to Office 365 will begin on Monday, November 4th at 8:00am and we expect it to take a few days. We anticipate that all mailboxes will be migrated by Friday, November 8th at 4:00pm. We will notify all students by email when the migration is complete.
What is changing with the service upgrade?
The most noticeable change will be that Office 365 has a blue/white color scheme, instead of the orange/white color scheme you have been used to. Beyond that, the Office 365 service upgrade provides great new features, including broader support for mobile phones and tablets, a unified user experience in the browser, social networking, and more. In addition, SkyDrive Pro and Microsoft Office Web Apps are now available under your Office 365 account.
Will email be available during the migration process?
During the upgrade email will continue to function as normal. However, if you are using Outlook when your email is upgraded, you will be asked to close and re-open Outlook. If you happen to be checking your email with the Outlook Web App when your email account is upgraded, you may need to sign-out and sign back in.
How will I access my email after the upgrade?
You will continue to access email by logging into myHill. Log in to myHill by browsing to myhill.stonehill.edu and click the Email icon under the "Quicklinks" channel on the Home tab.
The first time you login to your account after the upgrade, you may see a “Get started with Office 365” page. Just click on the “Outlook” link on the top bar to access your email account.
What about accessing my email on my mobile devices, like my iPad and smart phone?
Email on mobile devices will continue to function as normal.
Where are my SkyDrive files?
One of the major changes with the Office 365 service upgrade is that SkyDrive Pro and Microsoft Office Web Apps are now integrated with your Office 365 account. Files that you store in your Personal Microsoft Account SkyDrive are not carried over to your Office 365 account. If you would like to access your existing Personal Microsoft Account SkyDrive files in your Office 365 account, you will need to login to your Personal Microsoft Account, download the files, then upload them to your Office 365 SkyDrive Pro account.
