hillspot Wireless on Windows 7

  1. Right click on the Wireless icon in the bottom, right corner of your System Tray.
  2. Select Open Network and Sharing Center.
  3. In the "Network and Sharing Center" window, select Manage Wireless Networks.
  4. In the "Manage Wireless Networks" window, click the ADD button.
  5. In the "Manually connect to a wireless network" window, click on Manually create a network profile.
  6. In the "Manually Connect to a wireless network" window, set the fields as follows:
    1. Network Name: hillspot
    2. Security: WPA2-Enterprise
    3. Encryption Type: AES
    4. Select "Start this connection automatically"
    5. Select "Connect even if network is not broadcasting"
    6. Select Next
  7. In the next window, click on Change Connection Settings.
  8. In the "hillspot Wireless Network Properties" window, select the Security tab. Under the "Security" tab,
  9. Click on the Settings button to the right of Microsoft: Protected EAP (PEAP)
  10. In the "Protected EAP" Properties window:
    1. Un-check "Validate server certificate"
    2. Select "Authentication Method: Secured password (EAP-MSCHAP v2)"
    3. Click Configure
    4. In the "EAP MSCHAPv2 Properties" window:
    5. Un-check "Automatically use my Windows logon name and password (and domain if any)"
    6. Then click OK
  11. In the "Protected EAP Properties" window, click OK.
  12. In the "Wireless Network Properties" window, click OK.
  13. Click the close button to exit the "Manually connect to a wireless network" window.
  14. You should see a white bubble pop up ("Wireless Network Connection") in bottom right hand corner of your desktop requesting additional information to connect to hillspot.
  15. Click this bubble.
  16. You should see a login box open in the center of the desktop.
  17. Enter your Stonehill domain username and password.

You should now be connected to the hillspot wireless network.
After entering your Network Authentication, restart your computer.

If you have changed your Stonehill password, please follow the steps below.

How to update your hillspot connection on Windows 7

  1. Click on the wireless icon in the lower, right-hand corner of the screen, choose hillspot from the list and select the Disconnect button.
  2. Right-click on the same wireless icon and select “Open Network and Sharing Center” from the list that displays.
  3. Select “Manage wireless networks” from the left-hand column in the window.
  4. Select “hillspot” from the list, right-click and choose “Properties” from the menu that appears.
  5. Select the Security tab.
  6. Choose the Advanced settings button.
  7. Make sure “Specify authentication mode” is checked off and the drop-down menu is set to “User authentication.” Then select the Replace credentials button.
  8. Add your Username and new Password into their respective fields and click the OK button.
  9. Click the OK button on the Advanced Settings window.
  10. Click the OK button on the hillspot Wireless Network Properties window.
  11. Your credentials for connecting to the hillspot secure wireless network are now updated.

If that doesn’t work, remove the hillspot connection on the Manage Wireless Networks window and go through hillspot setup.

  1. Select hillspot from the Manage wireless networks… window.
  2. Click on the Remove button.
  3. Follow the steps at the top of this page to reestablish your hillspot connection.
