Conference Call Service

Conference calling is available from most telephones on Campus.

  • Faculty, Staff and Administration digital telephones support up to 6 users on a conference call.
  • Beige desk phones or wall phones on campus support 3 users on a conference call.
  • For conference calls with up to 50 participants, our Conference Bridge Service may be requested. Please contact the Service Desk to reserve the Bridge Service.

All conference rooms on campus have telephone extensions activated to be able to make conference calls.

A Polycom Conference Telephone is available for better sound quality. To request a Polycom Conference Telephone, contact the Service Desk.

Conference Dialing Instructions

From a digital telephone (Avaya 8410D, 8434D, 6416D and 6402D):

  1. Dial the first number and establish connection.
  2. Press the conference button (first party is put on hold).
  3. Dial the second number; establish connection and press conference (all parties will be on the call).
  4. Continue up to 6 people on a call.
  5. The speaker button may be pressed if others are in the room.

Note: the 6402D model phone has a one way speaker only, if you need to use a speaker, contact the Service Desk.

From an analog telephone (2500 beige phone or Touchtone wall phone):

  1. Dial the first number and establish connection.
  2. Press R button or switchhook momentarily (first party is put on hold).
  3. Dial the second number, establish connection and press R button or switchhook again. Three parties will be on the call.
