Stonehill offers internationals internships in a variety of fields, including:
- Advertising and Business
- Health Administration
- Medical Research
- Art and Theatre
Due to visa restrictions in the host countries, placements are unpaid.
Placement & Evaluation
Placements are arranged for the student by a team of agents under contract with Stonehill College. A formal mid-semester and final assessment is conducted to evaluate a students on-going progress. In addition, students are requed to complete a Daily Professional Journal and a Research Paper with a designated Stonehill Faculty Moderator.
Program Duration & Credit Awarded
Students approved for the program intern for 14 weeks, during the spring semester of the junior year or the fall semester of the senior year. Upon successful completion, students are granted fifteen credits. Interns in English-language placements will take a class or seminar relating to the culture of the country of their internship at a nearby university as part of their 15 credits. This program requires at least a 3.00 G.P.A.
The type of housing varies among the cities, however in each location, a local coordinator welcomes the student upon arrival, helps with housing arrangements and remains available during the internship should the student need assistance.
Students participating in one of the four international internship programs are provided with overseas supplemental insurance coverage through AIG WorldRisk travel policy for the duration of the their internship program. This insurance supplements the preventative insurance coverage students currently have through a parent/guardian or through Stonehill College. Students are provided with an insurance card with 24/7 contact information in the event of an accident or injury abroad. Students that plan to travel after their program are responsible for extending and paying for the additional coverage for the duration of their personal travel.
