COVID-19 Updates

Stonehill College has taken a number of precautionary measures to prevent the spread and impact of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The College continues to closely monitor the disease as it evolves and is following guidelines issued by federal and state experts.

Who we are

Health Services is a confidential, appointment-based medical office that is designed to manage acute episodic health problems and exacerbation of chronic problems for full-time Stonehill College students during the academic year.

Our staff includes nurse practitioners, physician assistants, a part-time physician, a nurse, an office manager, and a health educator/wellness coordinator. This team is dedicated to one objective: helping support the health and wellness of students. Students are seen and treated in Health Services for many acute illnesses and injuries.

Students who are evaluated in Health Services and are in need of a higher level of care receive recommendations for accessing this care. Chronic illnesses may be managed in collaboration with the student’s primary care provider.  Health Services offers medical care, treatment, information, and advice about many health issues that may develop for students during their college years.

Health Services recognizes that ongoing incidents of social injustice, racism, and violence in our country and around the world have negative and traumatic impacts for our students, faculty, and staff.  Health Services joins the rest of the Stonehill community in expressing our grief, sorrow, and compassion to all those who have been, and continue to be, impacted by racial injustices and tragedies.  Health Services is here to support our students and is committed to providing a welcoming environment, where all identities, abilities, beliefs, and experiences are recognized and valued.

Confidentiality

All visits to Health Services and conversations with the staff are confidential. Your permission must be obtained before the staff will give information to anyone not directly connected with your care. This includes parents and college officials. There are limited exceptions to this policy as we are required by law to report certain communicable diseases to the Public Health Department and in life threatening situations.
