Straight From The White House: Alumnus David Simas '92 Returns To Stonehill

March 5, 2014

Recently, Stonehill alumnus David Simas ’92, who is one of President Barack Obama’s top advisors, returned to campus to speak with members of the College community. During his talk, which was moderated by Visiting Political Science Professor John Walsh, Simas reflected on his time at Stonehill, saying the sense of community he felt is what he remembers most about his time here.

In January, President Obama appointed Simas as the head of the White House’s new Office of Political Strategy and Outreach. In his role, Simas serves as the President’s point of contact for presidential visit requests and fundraiser appearances. He also oversees strategic planning with the Democratic National Committee and local party operations and is the person administration officials on the campaign trail turn to for guidance.
